After 18 months of working to bring compostable packaging and food waste collections to the North West, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause our collections service.

While there’s been plenty of interest and support, there hasn’t been enough regular commitment from businesses to make the service sustainable. We’re proud to have proven that compostables can work when everyone plays their part – like at ACC Liverpool’s UKIO event, where we delivered 99.9% clean material – but without stable agreements, it’s simply not viable to continue.

For now, Food4Soil will be stepping back from collections while we consider what comes next.
